Ben Shepherd
Field Agronomist
Joined Stine Seed Company 2021
North Dakota native Ben Shepherd joined the Stine agronomy department as a field agronomist in November 2021. Before landing a full-time position with Stine, Ben served as a part-time employee supporting Stine’s plot program in his region in North Dakota. Now, as a field agronomist, Ben supports RSA and ISRs in Stine’s northern territories, including South Dakota, North Dakota, Minnesota and Wisconsin. He also continues to work closely with the plot program in the region.
Ben is a graduate of North Dakota State University where he received his B.A. in agronomy. Following graduation, Ben served as a crop consultant scouting fields and working with farmers on their annual crop plans. His education and experiences are valuable in his current role as he works directly with our sales team leaders and their grower customers to map out the best plan of action for their fields and to help troubleshoot any problems that may come about.
Born and raised in Devils Lake, North Dakota, Ben and his wife, Sydnie, currently reside in Leonard, North Dakota, where they both enjoy visits back to the lake and being outdoors. Ben is also an avid hunter and fisherman, and when he can, he helps his wife’s family on their family farm.
